Cold Cracking Technology for Crude Oil Upgrading in Qaiyarah Heavy Oil Field; Technical and Economical Evaluation

چکیده
Heavy oil is classified as unconventional resource because of its difficulty to recover in natural state, difficulties transport and marketing it. Upgrading solution the heavy has positive impact technically economically specially when it will be a competitive with conventional oils from prospective. Developing Qaiyarah field was neglected last five decades, main reason due low quality crude resulted high viscosity density which still major challenge putting them on stream line production Iraq. The properties led lower prices global markets well operation cost transportation. purpose this paper testing new technology applications an Iraqi Oil Field specifically (Qaiyarah Field) by applying cold cracking technique upgrade through using series electrical/ mechanical activities applied that generates special kind vibrations re-structure (H-C) bonds convert lighter viscosity/ outcome distillation reducing unsaturated components isolating minerals sulfur sold components. results were very optimistic, where improved 16 30.5 API degree, content reduced 6.4 1.507 weight percent selling price per barrel would increase 53% compare 2.31% increment upgrading operation. Therefore, convenience for improving increased

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Application of carbon nanocatalysts in upgrading heavy crude oil assisted with microwave heating.
Heavy crude oil can be upgraded to lighter oil using several techniques. However, current methods usually require high temperatures, long reaction duration, and cause serious environmental pollution. This study shows that by using carbon nanocatalysts, heavy crude oil can be efficiently upgraded to lighter oil at a relatively low temperature of about 150 °C. The temperature of crude oil was inc...
متن کاملMicrobial enhanced heavy crude oil recovery through biodegradation using bacterial isolates from an Omani oil field
BACKGROUND Biodegradation is a cheap and environmentally friendly process that could breakdown and utilizes heavy crude oil (HCO) resources. Numerous bacteria are able to grow using hydrocarbons as a carbon source; however, bacteria that are able to grow using HCO hydrocarbons are limited. In this study, HCO degrading bacteria were isolated from an Omani heavy crude oil field. They were then id...
متن کاملBioremediation of Heavy Crude Oil Contamination
Crude oil contamination is one of the major environmental concerns and it has drawn interest from researchers and industries. Heavy oils contain 24-64% saturates and aromatics, 14-39% resins and 11-45% asphaltene. Resins and asphaltenes mainly consist of naphthenic aromatic hydrocarbons with alicyclic chains which are the hardest to degrade. Crude oil biodegradation process, with its minimal en...
